Two groups of 75 cows each were selected from a milking herd and managed separately. Both groups were fed the same diet, but one group received a daily supplement of DFM top dressed on the feed. The cows that received the DFM supplement showed increased liveweight mobilization and produced more milk, [...]

University of Queensland Research Data on Great Land Plus® Pastures

Independent Field Research Data Dec 2016 Pasture The effect of a commercial probiotic on milk quality of dairy cows Full paper is published in the Journal of Dairy Science, 2019. (Manuscript ID JDS-18-15411.R3) Controlled Study - Independently Conducted by University of Queensland Aim: This extensive and scientifically robust study aimed to determine the effect of Great Land® treated pastures on milk production, milk quality and animal health in a commercial dairy. Study Online: A controlled, randomised block design study was conducted on a commercial dairy farm at Harrisville, southeast Queensland. Eleven paddocks each of approximately 3 hectares with stablished ryegrass based pastures were each divided into two sub-paddocks. Half of the sub-paddocks were treated with Great Land® and the other half were untreated. All other practices, for example fertiliser, irrigation and grazing practices were applied consistently across the treated and control study areas. Paddocks selected for the study had [...]

Great Land Plus® Gatton Maize Agronomy Trial 2024/25

This research aims to explore the use of Great Land Plus® in Maize to manage crop productivity while reducing the amount of synthetic fertilisers. This research explores the use of GLP in maize at two application timings, in furrow and early crop emergence, with full rate of fertiliser and 25% reduced fertiliser. Trial was conducted by independent research organisation in Eurofins/Kalyx. Trial Site Overview Sown: 16th October 2024 Harvested: 4th March 2025 Rotation Position: Fallow 2023 & 2022 Variety: Pioneer P2307 Standard Fertiliser: Urea, Sulphate of Potash & Granulock Supreme Zn Objectives To test the hypothesis that using Great Land Plus® can support reduced requirement for synthetic fertilizer inputs while maintaining crop yield and improving plant health and uniformity. Test the application timing of plant bio-stimulant Great Land Plus® and its effect on crop growth and yield. Support data driven recommendations for sustainable agriculture practices using Great [...]

From Research to Reality: Making Sense of Probiotics in Sheep Systems

At LambEx26, Terragen Chief Operating Officer and veterinarian Dr Joss West explored the role probiotics can play in modern sheep production, and what producers should consider before introducing them into their system. Her presentation, From Research to Reality: Making Sense of Probiotics in Sheep Systems, looks at the growing research base, where probiotics may support rumen function, animal health and feed efficiency, and why strain, dose and delivery method matter. Great Land Plus® (GLP) Compatibility with Roundup Ready® Herbicide with Plant Shield®

Compatibility summary based on MALDIID Final Report B-C95-P01B01 (04 September 2025) Executive Summary Short-term (2–6 hours): GLP shows partial compatibility in the tank with Roundup Ready granules; total viable counts retain approximately 64–68% of initial levels. Overnight (24 hours): Total viable counts drop to ~18% of the starting level, driven by marked declines in Lactobacillus groups. The mix should be sprayed within the same day and preferably within 2–6 hours of mixing. What Was Tested Sample 1: Roundup Ready with PlantShield granules (1500 g/ha) + GLP (batch C25.024) at 4 L/ha; counts at 0 h, 2 h, 6 h, and 24 h. Sample 2: GLP at 4 L/ha baseline counts at 0 h (no time-course). Overall Viability Trend Total viable counts (“Total all”) over time in the combined mix: Detailed Results Colony-forming units (CFU/mL) and retention relative to 0 h for Roundup Ready + GLP mix: Microbe group [...]
